The Bronte Creek Project (Gary Allan High School) requires several
qualified trip leaders to assist staff on our Spring canoe trips for
the Trailhead program (Grade 10) and The Bronte Creek Project (Grade
11/12). Our integrated four credit programs finish the semester with a
canoe trip through Algonquin Park. Visit
http://www.trailheadprogram.org or http://www.brontecreekproject.org
for more information on the school and programs.
The trips require leaders to assist our staff teacher and assistant.
We work in staff pairs with 2 leaders and 6 students on three
campsites with a male/female balance. The preferred qualifications are
NLS (Swimming) and Orca level 2 (Tripping) and Wilderness First
Responder (WMA first aid). Applicants must provide a current (within 6
months) Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
prior to leaving on the trip. The trip leaders will be paid an
honorarium of $400. Although not required, teaching qualifications are
an asset. Applicants without the required qualifications and documents
will not be contacted.
The Halton District School Board will request a Criminal Background
Check that includes a vulnerable sector search that is satisfactory to
the board as well as a third party background screening being
conducted prior to an offer of employment.
Please send copies of the above documents along with a resume
(including qualifications), and cover letter by Tuesday, April 14,
2015 at 4:00 p.m. to Continuing Education at:
