The GIZ project Capacity Development for the Transport Sector in Liberia is on-going and
will be executed until July 2014. The assignment of the roads maintenance expert should start as soon as possible. The planned performance period is 22 calendar months.
Your tasks
• assist in the implementation of a roads maintenance strategy for Liberia
• provide technical and institutional support for the implementation of the roads maintenance strategy in a pilot region
• assist in the establishment of a computerised roads maintenance management system (RMMS)
Our requirements:
• University Degree in Civil Engineering or in another relevant technical discipline
• At least 15 years of experience of providing technical assistance to roads sector organisations
• Experience of working in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Good background in roads sector institution building and training
• Knowledge of relevant RMMS software packages would be an asset
• Fluency in the English language
• Good command of the German language would be an advantage.
• Experience of working for bilateral TA projects (e.g. GIZ projects) would be an advantage.
