Summary/Purpose
The
Logistics Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals,
programs, and processes for an area in our business segment. In this role you
will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute
objectives for self and others, and affect short-term while implementing some
long-term business goals.
Essential
Responsibilities

Provide leadership direction for a variety of traffic and logistics services
and activities required for all locations to include primary contact for
transportation carrier relations
• Administer and negotiate for transportation services and issue and maintain
transportation procedures
• Provide leadership to employees engaged in import / export activities for
the business
• Ensure the Traffic portion of the export / import activity including order
entry review, invoicing, drafting, and documentation for export
• Manage traffic activities such as carrier selection, tracing, expediting,
chartering, including Premium Transportation Authorization (issue / audit /
debits)
• Be responsible for inbound and outbound transportation, guide lined by the
COE/Global logistics
• Standardize processes to ensure all required documentation is in place to
timely transport material to destination
• Support the local leader in customs compliance program with regard to
import, export related topics
• Analysis of transportation spend and tie to the financial ledger
• Primary contact for global affiliates in reference to the logistics
process
• Be responsible for supervising, work planning, and equipment required for
the receipt, sorting, warehousing, inventory control, and crating
services
• Coordinate warehouse activities with those of other departments, including
Production, EHS
• Be accountable for maintenance and update of computerized information
systems used for inventory control, receiving materials, issuing materials as
related to the warehousing function
• Be responsible for process harmonization between different warehouse
areas
• Set warehouses yearly goals and objectives and perform quarterly
follow-up
• Support all financial inventory targets (INV, SMI, WIP) including month end
and quarter closing processes
• Provide training on material procedures and processes
• Conducting daily standard work to include walkthrough of dock & shop
floor to investigate and root cause material abnormalities
• Follow up Purchase Orders, Cycle Count Accuracy root cause and resolution
and Turns to ensure material needed on the warehouse.
• Be responsible for all operations related to trash and dunnage
recycling
• Drive vision of a supermarket based stock room using lean principles of
point of use and kanban
• Support warehousing optimization/Lean projects

• Maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with
both internal & external customers and suppliers
• Assure the continued development and growth of assigned personnel through
strong leadership
• Drive continuous improvement culture and cost out
• Implementation of tools and dashboards for metric visibility and
communication
• Working cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, supply chain and
finance to identify improvement opportunities and implement successful
changes

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, shop operations,
facilitation and production control in a manufacturing environment,
production planning, inventory management principles and practices, or
materials management disciplines
• Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in industrial traffic
management or logistics
