policy making, programming and implementation. UPHLS’s core business is the
advocacy for the rights of people with impairments whether they be physical,
sensory, mental , or intellectual. UPHLS builds the capacity of organizations
of PLWDs to be able to participate in mainstream development processes. UPHLS
has strong regional partnerships with civil society organizations, government
institutions, and international and national development partners on disability
and HIV/AIDS.

Summary

Consultant
– Coaching and Mentoring will work alongside key staff at UPHLS through
training and support to improve the capacity of UPHLS to effectively share
expertise, experience, and connections with disabled person organizations DPOs
. DPO capacity will be used to facilitate contributions to reporting on the
needs of people with disabilities, advocating with local officials, and
monitoring implementation of rules and regulations.

posting is an initial gathering of CVs of potential candidates and/or mentoring
organizations. It is anticipated that this consulting agreement would be for a
total of approximately 20 days over the next 4-6 months.

Qualifications
- Preferably
with a Master’s degree and 7+ years of experience in coaching and
mentoring methodologies - Understanding
of capacity development, mentoring, and knowledge transfer methodologies - Strong
interpersonal, writing, presentation, and organizational skills are
required - Understanding
approaches to communicate technical information to a non-technical
audience is critical - Demonstrated
problem solving abilities with an ability to engage others in coming to a
solution, rather than working only independently - Experience
working in disability sector a plus - Knowledge
and experience in the health policy and programming process - Ability
to work as a team member and collaborate with others - Professional
and mature demeanor and conduct - French
language fluency a plus required
