Field Business Officer
Sustainable Energy Markets for Africa (SEMA) is a four year project funded by the European Union and Hivos and implemented by Triodos Facet in partnership with Integral Advisory Ltd (Kenya) and FRIENDS Consult Ltd (Uganda). The project will initially facilitate linkages between rural financial institutions and energy entrepreneurs to enhance access to renewable energy by rural people. Later on, it will facilitate access to capital and other forms of funding for loan portfolios to end users of renewable energy.
Roles
The Field Business Officer will be key person in implementation, liaising the rural energy entrepreneurs with rural financial institutions.
Requirement:
The successful candidate, who will be remunerated competitively, will be a graduate of engineering, economics or a business discipline with a relevant post-graduate qualification and at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in facilitating or managing business in the renewable energy sector.
Reporting to the Managing Director of FRIENDS Consult Ltd in Kampala (Where he/she will be based), the FBO will frequently travel upcountry for fieldwork (which will constitute more than 60% of his/ her the work).
The contract, initially for 6 months, may be extended on the basis of satisfactory performance.
