programs that educate, engage
and empower youth to become agents of change.
Free The Children
seeks a driven and experienced Technical
Web Manager with at least one to four years of web development
experience. The candidate should have exceptional project management and
programming skills to manage, maintain and improve organizational websites,
internal websites and various internal systems. The technical manager will work
closely with technical, business development, and marketing members of our
organization, so strong communication skills are needed. He/she will have
experience in some of our technical programs including[[http:salesforce.com|salesforce.com]],
Act-On, Git, Shopify, Vend, Litmus, and more.

Responsibilities:
- People
management - Along
with the Web Content Manager, co-manage a team of 6-8 web developers. - Effectively
and clearly delegate work to the web team and oversee work flow, process
and progress. - Accomplish
work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and
coaching employees; following production, productivity, quality and
customer service standards. - Quality
control on all platforms - Stay
current with technology and best practices in order to identify if
internal web solutions are timely, on-trend and industry-accepted. - Ensure
quality of all components of the websites, databases, CRM, e-commerce
systems - Own
the performance and upkeep of websites and all web properties, including
scaling, load testing, performance optimizing, and uptime. - Perform
routine maintenance audits of websites, online forms,[[http:salesforce.com|salesforce.com]]
processes, email templates and blasts, nurture flows, data integrity and
security across all platforms - Stay
on top of security issues and updates to all platforms for
vulnerabilities, holes in security, and areas of vulnerability. - Be the
main point of contact for special projects requiring load management for
increases in traffic such as television airings, special campaigns which
occur outside of regular hours. - Ensure
the web development team adheres to strict process including coding
practices, process guidelines, logging procedures and methodologies. - Advise
of improvements to any areas of quality control including staffing, skill
sets, process or programs
- Project
management of all internal projects and web assets - Involved
in all stages of web projects—from conceptual development to execution. - Responsible
for wire framing, scoping and executing on all web projects. - Provide
direction, leadership, and coordination on web projects. - Set
and continually manage project expectations with team members and other
stakeholders. - Delegate
to and liaise with web developers and project stakeholders on a daily
basis. - Coordinate
approvals from various stakeholders. - Maintain
prompt and thorough email correspondence with internal and external
project stakeholders, as well as project documentation (timelines,
project plan, etc.). - Cost
Effectiveness - Ensure
all paid and non-paid web entities are being used and removal of
redundant or underutilized systems and programs. - Ensure
all current platforms and programs are being utilized in an efficient and
cost effective way. - Analytics
and reporting - Regularly
analyze, interpret and report on usage of web platforms. - Spot
trends in usage and advise of strategy to move forward and allocate
hardware resources.
Reporting
and Relationships:
- Reporting
to the Associate Directors, Creative Communications and Director,
Information Technology - A
member of the 12-person Creative and Communications Management team, as
well as the Information Technology team.
Skills and
Qualifications:
- Must
have experience managing web projects, ideally in an agency environment. - Certificate
or Degree in web development, computer science or related field or
experience - Strong
research skills, knowledge of emerging technologies, social media - Must be
highly organized and able to develop and maintain organizational systems
and processes. - Displays
good judgment, with an ability to identify risks and manage expectations. - Strong
knowledge of cross browser optimization including responsive and mobile
design. - Experience
of several API interfaces such as paypal, Google analytics, e-commerce. - Detail-oriented
and highly meticulous. - Independent
and self-driven. - Experience
with people management is a strong asset. - Working
towards Agile development certificate

knowledge using node.js and npm. - Design

tools and PM: JIRA, slack, invision.
