In its determination to reposition the Niger Delta beyond oil and gas, the Federal Government in partnership with international investors have put in measures to rehabilitate the ancient Egbuhu fishing terminal located in Mbo Local government area of Akwa Ibom State to meet International standard.
This was disclosed on Friday, 31st January 2020 when the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang led an inter-Ministerial / inter-Agencies Committee on a fact-finding tour of the facilities at the terminal.
The collaboration would enable the investors build trawler and train youths of Niger Delta on fishing and trawler building at the terminal and would generate opportunities for the teeming youths.
