planning, policy analysis and programme development, monitoring and evaluation
and training and capacity building.
Role:
As an Associate Consultant:
Conduct consultancies
according to each project’s Terms of Reference
Ensure the supervision of any
Junior Consultants assigned to the project
Establish positive working
relationships with clients and partners
Report to Senior Consultants
As
an Associate Consultant, contribute to:
Develop new consultancy
proposals (including technical and financial components)
Look for new calls for
consultancy proposals
Qualifications and
Experience:
Required
–         
Master’s degree in gender, development, international relations, or other
social sciences or equivalent
–         
Substantial work experience (at least 5 years) in international NGOs, United
Nations, Governments or research institutions with progressive responsibilities
–         
Specialization in at least two of the following domains: gender (including
GBV), child protection, education, health, economics, or agriculture
–         
Demonstrated commitment to gender equality and sustainable development
–         
Experience in strategic planning, programme development and Monitoring and
Evaluation
–         
Experience in project cycle management and results-based management approach
–         
Ability to analyse information and strong attention to detail
–         
Previous experience of managing a team and the ability to lead and motivate
others
–         
Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills
–         
Knowledge of Rwanda and the Great Lakes region, experience working in Rwanda an
asset
–         
Capacity to work in a multicultural team
–         
Flexibility and diplomacy
–         
Fluency in English- written, spoken and comprehension
–         
Proficiency in French and Kinyarwanda an asset
Desired
–         
Programme management experience with funding from institutional donors
(European Union, USAID, UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, ECHO etc)
–         
Experience in developing project proposals for institutional donors (including
budget component)
–         
Experience in training and workshop facilitation with a participatory approach
–         
Experience in field research and assessments (including development of tools,
and quantitative and qualitative data analysis)
–         
Data analysis skills, including knowledge of data analysis software (SPSS,
STATA)
–         
Experience in working with Government institutions and/or civil society
organizations
Compensation:
Salary
and opportunity for advancement is dependent on experience and based on
performance.
