Sustainable Education Assistant Position
Reporting to the Education Coordinator, the Sustainable Education
Assistants will be responsible for the delivery of ‘Project Webfoot’ –
in partnership with Ducks Unlimited Canada – to educate grade four
students in New Brunswick about the benefits and value of wetlands. As
we offer Project Webfoot to schools within French-speaking
communities, this position is bilingual essential.
Furthermore, the Sustainable Education Assistant will work closely
with all coordinators to achieve the shared goals of Falls Brook
Centre relating to rural sustainability, biodiversity, community
development, organic agriculture and renewable energy.
Responsibilities:
• On-site wetlands and biodiversity demonstration development in
conjunction with FBC staff and external partners
• Development of educational renewable energy, biodiversity, community
development, local foods and eco-tourism materials
• Delivering educational programming to the public (tours and presentations)
• Coordination/logistics of summer events
• Gardens and site infrastructure development
Qualifications:
• Must be between 15 and 30 at the start of employment
• Must be a full-time student returning to school full-time in the fall
• Excellent oral and written communication in English and French
• Be comfortable working outside, in a physical, hands-on environment
• Background/experience in Education and/or Environmental Sciences an asset

• Start Date: May 25, 2015
• End Date: July 17, 2015
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Compensation: $11/hr and 37.5 hours/week

This is a full-time position, based at our site in Glassville, NB. We
are in a remote, rural location, and applicants should be prepared to
live and work in this type of setting.
