Job Title: Deputy Director of Social Marketing

Position Description:
Job Purpose:
Provides effective leadership and management of PSI/Tanzania’s field operations
to ensure high quality implementation of marketing plans. Ensures compliance of
field activities with policies and procedure. Contributes to the development of
marketing plans and strategies, report and proposal writing. In absence of the
Direct of Social Marketing acts on high/her behalf
1. KRA – Provide leadership and management of to field teams.
· Set annual MBOs to Heads of zone operations. Responsible for semi-annual and
annual performance review of reporting staff. Contributes to setting MBOs and
performance review of field teams.
· Actively builds capacity of field teams through regular supervision, training
and coaching. Identify capacity building needs and ensure that it is included
in field operation plans
2. KRA –Contribute to the development to annual marketing plan
· Contribute to the annual marketing plan process by providing input/knowledge
and creative insight from field operations for plan develop – success stories,
lessons learnt
3. KRA – Development of annual work plans and budgets on zonal level
· Oversee the development process of zonal annual work plans and zonal
operation budgets; coordinate the approval of the work plans with the program
and finance teams and release the approved plans for the implementation
4. KRA – Oversee implementation of zonal work plan and budgets and ensure
targets are achieved for all field operations.
· Review monthly reports from zones. Consolidate zone reports into one PSI
monthly report and shared with SMT.
· In cooperation with Strategic Information Team, regularly analyse field
performance against set targets and suggest areas of improvement
· Address areas of improvement through various interventions such as: training,
allocation of resources and timely expenditure
· Regularly analyze PSI field activities and interventions in lieu of
innovation, behaviour change efficiency and reach; identify areas of
improvement. Ensure consistency of operations and quality standards of
interventions across all zones. Ensure zonal cooperation.
5. KRA – Ensure compliance and quality assurance of field teams to PSI policies
and procedures
· Approve advance requests and reconciliation/ expense reports. Assesses
expenditure compliance against PSI SOPs
· Lead the development of Standard operating procedures for field
implementation
· Suggest risk mitigation procedures for field implementation
6. KRA – Ensure cost efficiency of PSI operations
· Regularly analyse of cost efficiency of field operations and suggest/identify
areas of cost saving/cost optimisation. Contributes knowledge sharing and
innovation at zonal level
7. KRA – Ensure compliance with MIs SOPs and regular reporting through MIS system
at zonal level – Continuous
· Ensure compliance with MIS SOPS. Conduct continuous follow-up with zones to
ensure regular reporting through MIS. In coordination with Strategic
Information Team, contributes to the improvement/enhancement of MIS system and
its SOPS
8. KRA – Contribute to report and proposal development
· Contribute to donor reporting development when required. Contribute and
provide technical input on proposal and budget development. Support adhoc
governmental, PSI DC and other external stakeholder needs/requests.
9. KRA – In absence of Director of Social Marketing acts on his/her behalf.
· Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Masters degree – marketing or management
Relevant working experience:
3-5 years – marketing (private sector preferred) experience
Over 5 years – Management experience
