GRADE/SALARY: $2500 USD/month, depending on experience + housing and benefits

Job Summary:
The Protection Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for the coordination and management of Equip Liberia’s protection programs, specifically USAID supported programs focused on protection, prosecution, and prevention of SGBV cases. The Protection PM will be responsible to coordinate and provide: capacity building, technical program development, supervision of relevant personnel, analysis and reporting of protection sector trends in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties, and monitoring and evaluation of all protection activities against program objectives and indicators.
Responsibilities:
Program Coordination
• Liaise and mediate with other protection organizations to accomplish program objectives in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties
• Coordinate activities with EQUIP Field Officers to ensure accurate placement of protection monitors and social workers
• Coordinate and work with the Liberian National Police to facilitate the sharing of information, investigations, and arrest and prosecution of perpetrators
• Maintain positive working relationships and liaise with partners, GOL Ministries, and UN agencies at the field level to communicate and coordinate EQUIP’s field level Protection activities
• Visit project areas regularly to monitor and report accurately on EQUIP’s Protection work.
Program Management
• Oversee the implementation of Protection Program ensuring grant compliance
• Oversee logistics and operational aspects of Protection Program
• Supervise program staff, ensuring activities are in line with program work plan
• Assist in the hiring, training and capacity development of Protection staff
• Assist in the assessment, design and preparation of project proposals for funding
• Develop and manage budgets for protection activities including tracking field expenditures
• Supervise data collection and reporting per grant requirements
• Work with protection data clerk to compile and submit monthly narrative and progress reports to the Deputy Director/Director of Programs
• Coordinate operational and logistical aspects of Protection Program
• Work directly with the County Attorney and Circuit Court Justice to facilitate timely justice
• Strengthen and improve field reporting and information organization and management systems
• Represent EQUIP Liberia at sector coordination meetings and provide updates to program managers and senior staff
• Conduct regular monitoring visits to project areas to monitor progress of implementation, identify problems and re-assess needs.
Required Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in social work, conflict resolution, public health, international law, or related field
• Experience with case work / case management
• Two or more years of professional work experience in a similar field
• Demonstrated experience in financial and grants management, and familiarity with the donor requirements of organizations such as USAID, UN and EU
• Understanding of the international humanitarian system as it relates to protection
• Knowledge of budget management
• Demonstrated team building experience and strong cross cultural orientation
• Excellent management skills and experience
• Fluency in English (Ability to read, write and analyze, and interpret, technical and non-technical English language documents and manuals)
• Experience with preparing grant and project proposals
• Ability to write reports, training manuals and curriculum

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master or Graduate degree in a related field
• Experience working in a rural area, preferably in West Africa
• Experience working in NGO project management
• French speaking
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• This position requires living in a Nimba County, Liberia and may consist of trips into rural parts of Liberia. The applicant should be willing to live in primitive conditions and must adhere to EQUIP Security procedures as well as EQUIP’s Code of Conduct. EQUIP staff housing is shared accommodation.
