Location: Toronto, Ontario
Are you an environmentally conscious and socially active person? Do you enjoy nothing more than engaging with people about environmental issues and trying to get people engaged? Then canvassing for Earthroots could be right up your alley.
Earthroots is a not-for-profit Ontario based environmental charity focused on the protection of wilderness, wildlife, and watersheds in Ontario. Throughout the years we’ve made significant and long term impacts in the protection of our green spaces, provincial parks and growth trends in the province.
We are seeking creative, responsible, environmentally minded individuals to join our canvass team. The position involves engaging people door-to-door in residential neighbourhoods in Toronto to raise awareness about Earthroots and our campaigns, to get petitions signed, and to seek donations to support our campaigns.
This is a paid part-time position. While doing canvass work has its trials and tribulations and is not for everyone, this could be the perfect job for you! Working outside with a group of politically active and like-minded individuals can be very rewarding. As a part time job, we do everything we can to accommodate your schedule. The position also provides a lot of insight into the inner-working of environmental NGOs, and is a great way to get your foot in the door at Earthroots. It is hard to find employment you can feel good about these days – Earthroots would not exist without the ongoing efforts of our dedicated canvass team, so if you want a job you can feel good about, look no further!
Currently we are also awaiting on a possible summer student grant, so if you are currently a full-time student and will be returning in fall, please mention that in your email.
Post-secondary education in an environmentally related discipline, and/or past experience working or volunteering in the not-for-profit sector are an asset, but not required.
