Environmental Scientist or Engineer (Kigali, Rwanda)

East Africa is looking for a Top Environmental Engineer or Scientist to join
our team in Kigali.

multidisciplinary environmental and social consulting firm which develops and
implements innovative and effective env
ironment, water, and sustainability
solutions throughout the world. Established in 1993, we have successfully
completed over 500 major projects in Australia, Asia, Africa, South America,
North America and the pacific.
We are looking
for highly skilled, energetic and forward thinking people to join our global
company and help us consolidate and grow our presence in Rwanda and the East
Africa region.
Key duties
of the successful candidate will include:
• Conduct
technical studies and identify consulting opportunities.
• Provide
expertise and leadership in environmental and social management and assessment.
• Provide technical
input and field support to ongoing and planned environmental assessment
projects.
• Prepare proposals
and expressions of interest.
• Prepare
reports and presentations for clients.
Key
characteristics of the successful candidate will include:
• Five to ten years
of relevant environmental consulting experience.
• Bachelor
degree in relevant discipline – (Environmental Science or Engineering).
• Fluency in English
(written and verbal).
• Experience working
on Environmental Impact Assessments (or similar).
• Understanding of
relevant environmental laws in the EAC.
• Experience
on energy, infrastructure, or mining projects across the EAC.
• Ability to travel
as required.
• Initiative and
motivation to seek professional and company growth.
• Business
development and networking skills.
• Willingness
to learn and share.
• Sense of
creativity and innovation.
• Ability to work
cohesively in a team.
Attributes that
are desired, but not critical include:
• Masters degree in
relevant discipline.
• Fluency in French,
Swahili or other East African languages.
• Familiarity
with World Bank Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards.
• Knowledge of
mapping software, i.e. ArcGIS, QGis Salary: Negotiable based on level of
experience.
East African
Nationals with working permit for Rwanda only please.
