About CUAMM:
Doctors with Africa CUAMM was the first
non-governmental organisation (NGO) in the field of healthcare to be officially
recognised in Italy.  Doctors with Africa Cuamm is the largest
italian body

working to improve and safeguard the health of African
populations. Doctors with Africa CUAMM is implementing a 2 year extension of a
health system strengthening project “Responding to Chronic Emergency in
Karamoja IV” with support from UNICEF. The purpose of the project is to
strengthen the health system in service planning and implementation leading to
increased access to health services especially maternal, neonatal, nutrition
and EMTCT services.

About UNICEF CUAMM Project:
Doctors with Africa CUAMM is implementing a 2
year extension of a health system strengthening project “Responding to Chronic
Emergency in Karamoja IV” with support from UNICEF. The purpose of the project
is to strengthen the health system to be able to plan, implement and monitor
service delivery leading to increased access to health services especially for
children and mothers.
Job Summary: The
Project Officer/Technical
Advisor will technically support the DHT in planning, reporting, information
management, support supervision, rollout of outreach services, VHT strengthening,
training and teambuilding, clinical supervision with focus on the continuum of
maternal and neonatal care. Main results include improved performance of the
district in child survival and development indicators and overall district
health sector performance
particularly in reproductive and child health areas.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    applicants should hold MBChB/BScN or equivalent health qualifications.
    MPH, MSc HSM, MSc International Health, Msc Epidemiology or Msc Health Services
    Research or related equivalent degrees will be an added advantage.
  • Additional
    requirements include: clinical experience in maternal care, PMTCT, HIV
    treatment and care, knowledge of the Uganda reproductive health policy and
    plan, and knowledge of the district and HSD health system.
  • Past
    exposure and experience in training is advantageous. Main results include
    improved performance of the district in maternal, child survival and
    development indicators and overall district health sector performance.
  • The
    candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the Uganda health policy, plan
    and the district health system; they should have proficiency in computer
    usage (especially spreadsheets and data management programs) and should
    demonstrate good understanding, manipulation and use of health data.
  • Preference
    will be given to candidates who can demonstrate that they will manage to
    work in difficult environments of scarcity and work alone with minimum
    supervision.
