About the
role

The
Cabinet Liaison Unit is a unique part of DPC, providing a key liaison and
coordination role across the Premier and Cabinet cluster and also maintaining
strategic awareness of the Cabinet agenda and Cabinet processes, across the NSW
Government.

The Graduate
Policy Officer
will provide timely and efficient research, policy analysis,
administrative and project support services to contribute to the efficient operations
of the Cabinet Liaison Unit.

You will
be responsible for:

  • Undertaking
    research and analysis and prepare reports to support the Department in
    meeting its commitments in respect to the Cabinet process across the
    Premier and Cabinet cluster and the NSW Government.
  • Reviewing,
    researching and analysing Cabinet Submissions, project submissions or
    proposed initiatives and contribute to the development of the
    recommendations in relation to the soundness and feasibility of the
    proposals, projects or initiatives.
  • Assisting
    with the servicing of Cabinet committees, working parties,
    inter-departmental and inter-governmental committees.
  • Facilitating
    consultation on cross-portfolio policy and inter-governmental matters and
    seek workable solutions.
  • Maintaining
    awareness of current policy and related issues and assist with the
    preparation of briefs and correspondence in compliance with required
    standards of quality, accuracy and presentation protocols, to accurately
    represent proposed policy positions.
  • Undertaking
    a range of administrative tasks, participate in project work and process
    improvements to assist with the smooth function of the day to day
    operations of the Unit.
  • Work
    cooperatively within and across teams and actively support others to
    achieve Unit objectives.
  • Complying
    with statutory requirements relating to work health and safety and support
    strategies to promote ethical practice and an equitable, diverse and
    inclusive workforce environment.
