Data Presentation and Analysis

Analysis of Objective I
To
ascertain the level of awareness on the use of pesticide on the people of
Obiaruku Community

Research hypothesis I
Ho:
The people of Obiaruku are not aware of pesticides usage.
Ha:
The people of Obiaruku are aware of pesticides usage
Questions
1, 2 and 3 are set of related questions to the questionnaire that represent the
data use in analysis of research hypothesis as shown in the table 4.1 below.

600
From the table above, the total number of
respondents that say “yes” is equal to 511 (85.2%) while the total number of
respondent that say “no” is equal to 89 (14.8%). The calculated chi-square X2
value is 19.96 while the table value of x2 at 0.05, 2df = 5.991.
Since the calculated chi-square value of 19.96 is greater than the table value,
the researcher rejected the null hypothesis and concluded that there is high
level of awareness on the use of pesticide in Obiaruku community
Analysis of Objective II
To
examine the consequences of pesticides on farm product and the environment
Research Hypothesis II
Ho:
Pesticides do not have any consequence on farm product and the environment.
Ha:
Pesticides have consequence on farm product in Obiaruku community
Question
4, 5 and 6 are set of related questions to the questionnaire that represent the
data use in analysis of research hypothesis as shown in the table 4.2 below

The total shows that out of the 600 respondents,
465 (77.5%) persons said “yes” while 135 (22.5%) persons said “no” to the set
of related questions. The calculated chi-square (x2) value is 22.94
while the table value of x2 at 0.05, 2df = 5.991. the researcher
rejected the null hypothesis and concluded that pesticides have consequences on
farm products in Obiaruku community.
Analysis of Objective III
To
examine the health implication of pesticides on human
Research Hypothesis III
Ho:
There is no health implication of pesticides on human.
Ha:
There is health implication of pesticides on human.
Questions 7, 8 and 9 are set of related questions
in the questionnaire that represent the data use in analysis of research
hypothesis Ill as shown in table 4.3 below

The above table shows that out of the 600
respondents, 431 (71.8%) persons said “yes” while 169 (28.2%) persons said “no”
to the set of related questions.
The
calculated chi-square x2 value is 9.9 while the table value of x2
at 0.05, 2df = 5.991. since the calculated x2 value of 9.9 is
greater than the table value of 0.05 at 2df =5.991, the researcher rejected the
null hypothesis and concluded that there are health implications of pesticides
on humans.
Analysis of Objective IV
To
find out possible measures to reduce the health implication of pesticides on
man his environment
Research Hypothesis IV
Ho: There
are no possible measures to reduce the health implication of pesticide in Obiaruku
community
Ha: There
are possible measures to reduce the health implication of pesticides in Obiaruku
community.
Questions
10, 11 and 12 are, set of related questions in the questionnaire that represent
the data use in analysis of research hypothesis IV as shown in table 4.4 below

The
table above shows that out of 600 respondents, 455 (75.8%) persons said “yes”
while that that said no is equal to 145 (24.2%). Since the calculated
chi-square value is 16.83 while the table value of x2 at 0.05 at 2df
= 5.991, the null hypothesis was rejected which implies that there are possible
measures to reduce the implication of pesticides on man and its environment.
