Crystal
Ventures Ltd, a Rwandan leading Group with a diversified portfolio of
investments in various sectors including commercial construction, real estate
development, civil works, coffee shops, security, beverage processing,
printing, furniture manufacturing, media and building materials, is looking
for a high caliber candidate for the position of Deputy Chief Executive
Officer. The Group is looking
for an experienced, self motivated and
hardworking Executive who should be able to work with the Group to be
competitive in today´s dynamic business environment while ensuring

1. Deputy
Chief Executive Officer
Position:
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Reporting
to the Chief Executive Officer
The
ideal candidate should be experienced in financial management, business
processes and organizational planning and should be able to work
independently with no supervision. This person must have strong leadership
skills, well organized, flexible and able to embrace the challenges of
managing a large group of diverse people and businesses. Background working
in an investment or holding company will be an added advantage.
The
ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast paced environment,
sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and
efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is
crucial to this role. High level of written and verbal communication skills,
strong decision making ability and attention to detail are also important.
MUST
HAVE:
- Master´s
Degree in Business Administration or any related field.
- Managerial
level experience in an investment company or group of companies with at
least 5 years in financial and operational management of businesses.
- Excellent
computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and functional
knowledge or practical application of various ERP systems.
- Excellent
communication skills both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated
leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or
initiatives.
- Excellent
interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style able to deal
with various stakeholders.
- Budget
planning and monitoring experience for profit making entities.
Key
responsibilities include:
- Under
the direction of the CEO provide strategic vision, planning, and
operational leadership to ensure that the Group’s investments compete in
a global economy and increase shareholder value.
- Overall
operational management and control which entails monitoring and in some
cases direct involvement in the operations of companies, participation
in designing of policies and procedures and ensuring effectiveness
thereof.
- Improve
the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the
various companies´ missions specifically, ensure better management
reporting, information flow, business process and organizational
planning.
- Manage
and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (I IR,
IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as
coordination and communication between support and business functions.
- Play
a significant role in long-term planning including initiatives geared
toward operational efficiency, profitability and better work
- Work
with General Managers and Finance Managers to ensure timely submission
and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial/operations
reports to the holding Company.
- Assist
in project development and management; planning, costing, implementation
and monitoring of all new and existing projects in the core portfolio
and co-investments.
- Ensure
market competitiveness of the Group companies´ products and services
through adherence to quality and compliance with tax, environmental and
industry regulations.
- Assist
in strategy formulation and implementation and grow the Group business
portfolio and ensure profitability and sustainability.
Languages
Must
be fluent in English and working knowledge of French, Swahili or Kinyarwanda
is added advantage but not a requirement.

2. Position:
Senior Internal Auditor
Reporting
to the Group Internal Auditor
The
candidate must be able to work independently without supervision. This person
must have good leadership skills, be well organized, flexible and embrace the
group concept in diverse business operations. He/she should have excellent
written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and
attention to detail is equally important.
Qualifications
and Experience:
- Bachelor´s
degree in accounting or finance;
- Professional
qualification, ACCA, CPA or its equivalent and should have worked in an
internal audit department
- Excellent
computer skills and proficient in excel, word, power point etc;
- Excellent
communication skills both verbal and written;
- Excellent
interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style;
- Working
knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices used in internal
audit.
Key
responsibilities will include among others the following:
- Plan
and conduct audit in all portfolio companies and ensure general audit
and tax compliance.
- Assessing
systems of internal controls in the organization.
- Reviewing
the effectiveness of operational and financial controls.
- Performing
special investigations.
- Reviewing
the accuracy and completeness of accounting and operational records
- Maintenance
of proper audit documentation through compiling of proper audit working
papers.
- Compiling
the draft report for the Group Internal Auditor’s review.
- Train
on the job and mentor internal auditors.
- Attending
company periodic stock takes.
Languages
– Must be fluent in English, working knowledge in French, Swahili or
Kinyarwanda is added advantage but not a requirement.
