ConocoPhillips’ assets in Malaysia include interests in the Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company (KPOC) operated KBB gas field, Shell operated Gumusut-Kakap and Malikai oil fields, and Murphy operated Siakap North-Petai oil field, all located offshore Sabah.

In line with its growth and expansion in Malaysia, ConocoPhillips is seeking a suitably qualified professional to join its team as:

Reservoir Engineer
Kuala Lumpur

The Job:
• Provide reservoir engineering and general technical support for the organization’s operated and partner operated oil & gas fields in Malaysia.
• Work collaboratively with the operator in reservoir development and management planning, evaluating static and dynamic modeling, interpreting pressure transient tests, and calculating deterministic and probabilistic reserves and production forecasts for economic evaluation and budgeting.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of reservoir engineering evaluations, and general technical reviews of geology, drilling, sub sea, surface and operations engineering evaluations.
• Work collaboratively with ConocoPhillips’ technology group in Houston to facilitate transfer of knowledge and experience to its Malaysia projects.
• Make management recommendations, briefings and presentations.
• Initial assignment will be to the KPOC organisation working on the appraisal evaluation and field development planning of a significant deepwater discovery.

Requirements:
• Bsc Honours Degree and ideally higher degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent e.g. Mathematics, Physics or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years hands-on reservoir engineering experience with at least 5 years experience with an operator
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of reservoir engineering including model building and simulation, history matching, material balance and pressure transient interpretation.
• Possess general working knowledge of geology, drilling, sub sea, surface and operations engineering.
• Practice high safety, environmental and ethical standards.
• Independent, strong in analytical skill and strategic in thinking with the ability to draw and support conclusions.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
