Community Food Centres Canada,Fundraising Coordinator Jobs in Canada

Position: Fundraising Coordinator
Organization: Community Food Centres Canada
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Who we are

Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC) provides ideas, resources and a proven
approach to partner organizations across Canada to create Community Food
Centres that bring people together to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good
food. CFCC also works with the broader food movement to build greater capacity for
impact and to empower communities to work toward a healthy and fair food
system.

Why work with us?

CFCC was founded in 2012 to drive the development of a new approach to food in
low-income communities. We believe food is a powerful community building tool
that can bring people together around shared goals, build skills and physical
and mental health, and create the opportunity for greater equity in many
communities. CFCC is a flexible, collaborative and dynamic workplace, offering
lots of opportunity for growth — and shared meals!

The Fundraising Coordinator will be an important member of the fundraising
team, which works to build both national funding support while also supporting
and working with fundraising programs throughout our network of Community Food
Centres and Good Food Organizations.

Who are we looking for?

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Partnerships, the successful candidate
will work with the Director to develop a new corporate giving program at CFCC
and will have had some experience working with corporate donors. We are
interested in meeting candidates who have a demonstrated ability to build
meaningful relationships with a wide variety of partners. Lastly but
importantly, we are also interested in meeting with candidates who are passionate
about the need to change the status quo as it relates to food insecurity for
low-income Canadians.

Responsibilities:
• Work with the Director, Strategic Partnerships to develop a national
corporate giving program that includes meaningful recognition, employee
engagement and partnership opportunities for potential corporate partners;
• Be responsible for identifying prospects and advancing CFCC’s relationship
with corporations, corporate foundations and other potential sponsorship
partners;
• Support the development of a giving circle for business leaders in the good
food space and identify prospects for participation;
• Contribute to the creation and support of a successful and collaborative
approach to fundraising between CFCC and our network of Community Food Centres
across Canada;
• Support systems, share tools and, most importantly, build relationships that
will ensure there is ongoing capacity-building and knowledge and information
exchange in the area of fundraising between CFCC and our network of Community
Food Centres.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in a non-profit and preferably directly
connected to a fundraising team;
• Relevant post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and
experience;
• Sound understanding of basic fundraising principles and practices;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Evidence of leadership and initiative, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail
and creativity;
• Demonstrated capacity to develop networks with multiple partners;
• Empathetic to the cause. Will be strongly committed to the idea of food as a
public good, and as an agent for social change, particularly in low-income
communities;
