Founded

care.

Rwanda is launching its viral hepatitis program, which will work towards
improving access to treatment and diagnostics for hepatitis B and C in the
country.

The
associate will support the development of CHAI’s hepatitis program with both
supply and demand-side activities. The associate will support the Rwandan
Biomedical Centre as they develop the viral hepatitis program. The associate
will assist the government in helping to optimize policies and processes to
ensure access to high quality hepatitis drugs and diagnostic testing. The
associate will also need to support the development of costing, budgeting and
forecasting tools in Rwanda, and build capacity to the government where needed,
that can be used in the development of public treatment programs as well as
business case development for suppliers. The associate will report to the

Job Requirements
- Provide
support to the government of Rwanda and the CHAI country team on program development
relating to viral hepatitis - Work
closely, on a regular basis with ministry staff in the development of the
hepatitis program in Rwanda. - Identify
areas where support is needed, plan for and design the programmatic
support - Attend
high level technical working groups on hepatitis, represent CHAI and
present evidence to aid decision making - Share
best practices from other contexts to ensure knowledge is shared on the
strategies, tools and experiences of viral hepatitis worldwide, coordinate
closely with the global hepatitis team. - Help
Rwanda to build their capacity on costing and forecasting, including
epidemiological modeling and disease prioritisation - Glean
and disseminate information from CHAI and other sources on supply dynamics
and access-to-medicines issues - Perform
budget and scenario analysis; help develop strategies to advocate for the
changes with key in-country opinion leaders - Support
the development of patient targets and model credible uptake forecasts for
use in supplier business cases - Develop
coherent and convincing materials related to viral hepatitis programs for
use in countries, with suppliers, and with donors
