Pacific Mining is spearheading the growth of a major new industry in Australia
through the construction and operation of its Sino Iron Project.
The world class,
large-scale magnetite iron ore project is located at Cape Preston, 100km south
west of Karratha in Western Australia. The project has a current mine life of
more than 30 years and is the first to include large scale downstream
processing to produce a high grade m

agnetite concentrate. CITIC Pacific Mining
celebrated its first shipment in December 2013 and when in full operation will
be able to produce 24 million tonnes of magnetite concentrate a year. Dedicated
project infrastructure includes a magnetite concentrator, port facilities, a
combined cycle gas fired power station and a large desalination plant.

The
Opportunity
CITIC
Pacific Mining is currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer for our
Cape Preston Operations working a 9/5 FIFO roster from Perth. This is a
fantastic opportunity to join our concentrator engineering team and be an
integral part of the huge Sino Iron Project!
The
Purpose of the Role
Reporting
to the Electrical Manager, you are responsible for establishing and maintaining
systems to ensure electrical compliance with WA Mines Safety & Inspection
Act and Regulations for the concentrator area, ensuring continual and
improvement of relevant work processes and procedures along with your team
members.
Some
core responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):
  • Ensuring
    safety standards and statutory requirements are met across the project
  • Responsible
    for the reliability of the electrical equipment at the Concentrator area
  • Provide
    accurate technical guidance as part of electrical team
  • Promote
    continuous improvement
  • Supervising,
    coaching and training of team members
  • When
    required, participate in incident investigations, auditing and continual
    improvement
  • Prepare
    scope of works, inspection and test plans and other necessary
    documentations for the implementation of electrical projects
The
Requirements
We
are seeking applications from individuals with similar experience in a similar
role, preferably from within the resources industry with:
  • Minimum
    of 8 years’ experience as electrical engineer and/or senior electrical engineer
    positions
  • Minimum
    of an electrical engineering degree
  • Knowledge
    and experience on electrical systems, HV, LV drives, switchgear, PLC,
    CITECT and SCADA system
  • Extensive
    experience with fixed plant processing operations especially grinding
    mills, conveyor and crushing circuits
  • Experience
    with project work, trouble shooting and investigation of failures
  • Demonstrated
    experience in a senior, leadership, team leader role within an engineering
    department or similar
  • Strong
    understanding of Australian Standards and Compliances
  • A
    copy of all current qualifications / licences must be provided at the time
    of interview.
  • A
    current manual WA driver’s licence is required for this role.
