Major Responsibilities
• Assists with the delivery of Eco Camp programming in nature exploration and organic gardening
• Provides positive learning and recreation experiences for participating children and youth
• Supervises camp activities under the guidance of the Camp Counselors
• Assists with weekly garden maintenance as required
• Liaises with parents and the public
• Completes related administrative duties and written evaluations
Qualifications
• Experience working with children, particularly in a camp setting
• Knowledge of and/or experience in working with outdoor environmental education and recreation activities, especially for children 5 to 14 years of age an asset
• Knowledge of and/or experience in environmentally responsible gardening practices an asset
• Ability to work independently as well as in groups
• Ability to supervise groups of children and/or youth
• Program and leadership skills
• Good communication and public relations skills
• Current Emergency First Aid & CPR C
• Willing to work up to 40 hours per week
Period of Employment
• June 21, 2012- Aug 29, 2012
• Some preseason, evening and/or weekend training may be required
• Possible option of occasional hours in May-June or September-October if available
Location
• High Park or Toronto Music Garden (Queen’s Quay and Spadina)
Wage
• $10.93 per hour
