Job description
- Organizing
the activities of the accounting department - Reconciling
subsidiary ledger records to independently maintained records (e.g. bank
statements) or physical assets and general ledger control accounts - Ensures
implementation of proper systems of internal control, through
documentation of procedures and work processes - Attending
to internal and external customer queries - Monitoring
the Company’s risk and develop risk measurers to mitigate the risks
identified responsible for financial and management accounting, payroll
management, fixed asset register maintenance and procurement. - Plans,
organizes and schedules work in the most cost effective way to ensure
compliance with accounting standards. - Allocates
work and responsibilities to optimize utilization of available staff and
monitor and check work to ensure compliance with standards and policies
and procedures. - Recommend
the acquisition and disposal of assets and value assets for depreciation
and valuations - Prepares
analysis of information and financial transactions and reports on variance
from budget to management and the board
Requirements
- ACCA/
CA or CIMA. A degree in business administration and cost accounting will
be an added advantage - 5
to 7 years experience preferably in a distributions environment
