The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences provides undergraduate courses in Animal Science, Equine Science and Veterinary Science, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Captive Vertebrate Management. The School has substantial infrastructure of a very high standard for training veterinary undergraduates, including a Veterinary Clinical Centre for large animals, a Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Equine Centre and a Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.

The role is to teach undergraduate veterinary students in a clinical setting largely at the Veterinary Teaching hospital. Instruction is mainly to Phase 3 students including those in the specialism rotation, but interaction with Phase 2 students is also required. The hospital is incorporated with the Wagga Wagga Veterinary Hospital and the role involves working with their vets. The aim of clinical teaching is to train students to achieve Day One Competences in clinical and other areas. The incumbent will also be required to assess the progress of students towards these competences. Contribution to a broad range of professional and administrative roles within the School is also required.
