Position Summary

VISITING MEDICAL OFFICER
PSYCHIATRY
WYONG MENTAL HEALTH INPATIENT UNIT
Applications
are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for
registration in New South Wales for the above position within Central Coast
Mental Health Service, Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).  
Applicants
should be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College
of Psychiatrists and / or other specialist recognition as provided within
the Visiting Medical Officer’s Determination.
Applicants
should have experience working as a senior medical practitioner within
Psychiatry.
Central Coast
is comprised of the twin areas of Gosford and Wyong, positioned between Sydney
and Newcastle, which are collectively expected to grow from the current
approximate 300,000 to 450,000 population before 2030. The Local Health
District has strong connections with both Royal North Shore Hospital and the
University of Newcastle.

Provide
clinical management to patients of Central Coast Mental
Health. Initiate and participate in clinical teaching and research as well
as quality activities. Responsibilities will include liaison to Emergency
Departments, Inpatient Units and Community Teams and the provision of clinical
leadership to a multidisciplinary team. This position will also be
required to participate in the Psychiatrist on-call roster after hours.
