About the ACA
ACA was founded in 2006 in Guinea-Bissau. Among the
23 founding members were cashew farmers, processors, traders and associations
from Africa as well as Ahold, GIZ, Kraft Foods, Olam, Richard Franco Agency and
USAID. Today, ACA is a business association of more than 170 member companies
from more than 30 countries worldwide from along the value chain.

to cashew processors on improving operational efficiency and complying with
food safety, quality and labor standards through the ACA quality and
sustainability seal. The program is implemented in cooperation with the
world’s largest roasters and buyers of cashew, including Kraft Foods and
Intersnack. Furthermore, ACA supports cashew businesses in developing bankable
business plans and assist in accessing working capital and investment finance
to grow volumes of cashew processed in Africa. To support the technical

Duties and responsibilities
- Assist ACA Business Advisor and Seal
Coordinator in company selection and administering of technical
assistance, inspection and financial records (e.g. business plans,
financial projections etc.) - Provide technical assistance to cashew
processors on processing techniques, equipment installation and business
plan development with the guidance of the ACA Business and Seal Advisors
as well as finance and other consultants. - Monitor company performance against technical
assistance and ACA seal inspection recommendations. - Collect and report information on the national
and regional cashew sector, including weekly price updates during the
harvest season, crop updates outside of the harvest as well as other
relevant issues, such as policies, regulations and institutions active in
the sector. - Promote ACA membership and conference
participation at the national and regional level - Provide administrative and logistical support
to the ACA team and partners
Requirements
- Bachelor or Masters-level education in
finance, agribusiness or related field - 2-3 years work experience in agribusiness,
finance, agriculture or development assistance - Demonstrated entrepreneurial, flexible
attitude - Demonstrated ability to learn and perform a
multitude of tasks - Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel frequently and remotely
Reporting, Duty Post, Salary and Benefits
The Assistant will report to the ACA Business
Advisor. She /he will act as part-time consultant. ACA will provide a computer
and reimburse expenses for printing and communication. The consultant daily
rate will depend on the candidate’s education level, level of experience and
salaries in previously held positions. It is expected to be between $40-75 per
day (at 11 days per month maximum). ACA travel policies and benefits apply for
travel away from the consultants’ post.
