Sustainable Waterloo is a not-for-profit that advances the environmental sustainability of organizations across Waterloo Region through collaboration. We are looking for a talented, passionate and dynamic new team member.
The Business Development Manager position will offer you the opportunity to lead Sustainable Waterloo’s efforts to grow membership in the Regional Carbon Initiative, with a particular focus on Kitchener-based organizations.
As the ideal candidate you have a passion for: community-based leadership, improving the environmental sustainability of Waterloo Region, multi-sectoral collaboration, and building and maintaining relationships with a diversity of internal & external stakeholders.
Qualifications and skills required include:
• University degree / diploma in a related field
• Proven ability and passion for relationship building in collaborative environments
• A track record of thriving from intrinsically gratifying work; self-motivated
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Results-driven focus, with tenacity for achieving and exceeding ambitious goals w Ability to motivate and direct others towards common goals
• Ability to think creatively, and to identify & foster mutually beneficial partnerships w Flexibility to attend business functions on evenings and weekends as required
