As Head of Organisation Development, a newly created role reporting to the Director, People and Learning, you will have a pivotal role in helping people across the organisation, particularly the senior managers, have the skills and knowledge to enable the British Red Cross to become more business focused and responsive to a changing environment.
Specifically, working alongside our large Learning and Development team, you will encourage a climate of continuous development for leaders, future leaders and managers in the organisation and will develop a competency framework to identify opportunities and methods for leadership development. This will include ensuring the availability and delivery of a programme for managing talent and succession, in addition to managing and supporting change programmes. Given the seniority of the role, you will also contribute to the People and Learning strategy.
Likely to be MCIPD, you will have a proven record in leading organisational development in a large and complex organisation, in addition to being a practiced hand in managing change. Coaching operational managers in the development of their people management skills will be a key skill. Equally important will be your communication and influencing skills that will enable you to challenge the status quo at a senior management level.
Given the remit of this role, you must have the ability to travel extensively throughout the UK.
