The British Council Customer Service and Project Officer & Teaching Centre Registrar Job Vacancy in Kigali, Rwanda

The British Council invites applications from qualified candidates for the following fixed-term vacancies at its Kigali office:

1. Teaching Centre Registrar

Job Aim: To manage the smooth running of British Council Kigali Teaching Centre activity to clients’ and customers’ satisfaction, meeting Teaching Centre quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:
This post manages the administration function of the Teaching Centre at the British Council office in Kigali. It is accountable for the delivery of high quality customer services to Teaching Centre clients and customers and of high quality administration services to the Academic Manager of the Teaching Centre.

Key duties are:
• Customer Relationship Management ensuring that at all times the needs of Teaching Centre customers are met to Teaching Centre standards (including customer communication, initial complaints handling)
• Teaching Centre Administration; (including but not limited to procurement of Teaching Centre supplies, support for registration sessions)
• Financial management (including but not limited to reconciliations, accruals, invoicing and debtor management)
• Monitoring and development of our Equal Opportunities & Diversity policy in relation to the Teaching Centre.

Skills and Qualifications:
• University Degree or higher.
• Financial planning and management (level 2)
• At least 4 years relevant working experience in reputable, client focused organisations.
• High level of Kinyarwanda and English language (IELTS 7 or above equivalent) skills

2. Customer Service and Project Officer
Job Aim:
Main Responsibilities:
Customer Service: To act as the first point of contact for Teaching and Exams customers.

Project delivery: To provide support for projects and organise events to a high standard and within deadline. To make arrangements for visitors including booking travel, accommodation and preparing programmes.
Financial administration: to provide financial support to the project managers, including raising of purchase orders, getting quotes from suppliers, tracking payments and correcting mispostings.

Scorecard: To administer our monitoring and evaluation tool called Scorecard. Collect and record all data within deadline and according to corporate standards.

Marketing and Communications: To ensure that projects are marketed to the highest standards in print (press, publications), digitally (websites, social media, TV, radio) and at events (conferences, workshops, meetings).

Skills and Qualifications:
• University Degree.
• At least 2 years relevant working experience in reputable, client focused organisations.
• Experience of events management and projects organisation.
• High level of Kinyarwanda and English language (IELTS 7 or above equivalent) skills

Special requirements for both posts:
Some evening and weekend work is required.
