TO LEARN is an NGO, operating in Moshi, Tanzania.

Learn
was created to focus on educational inclusion for all children in need, so that
they may have access to quality education that responds to the unique needs of
the communities that we operate in.
To achieve this we
have created effective strategies to address the wider environmental system of
family relationships, community and society, within which each child develops,
interacts and grows.
OUR
OBJECTIVE
Improve the
abilities and expand the potential of every new generation in the communities
that we serve.
To this end, we have
implemented a new model of education based on creativity, emotional support,
stimulation of lateral thinking, art and crafts, sports, human values, health,
social and family support.
As from january
2014, we have implemented our new model of education and implemented an English
Medium Primary curriculum. We now have four classes, kinder, standard 1, 2 and
3 and will grow up from there. All classes are in English.We have four local
teachers who need a Primary School manager/head teacher to be able to organize,
help implement school procedures, and train them to achieve the curriculum
standards.
We are looking for
someone with at least 5 years experience in primary education, who is willing
to gain field experience in an undeveloped world. Who is openminded and can
adapt to very poor environment and with little resources to develop the job
requirements. Our school opens from 8,30 to 3.30 from Monday to Thursday and
from 8.30 to 1.00 on fridays. Weekends are free. We work on a term system
having breaks at half terms around the year.
We ideally would
need at least a 15month comittment starting from October 2014. Although school
year starts in January and finishes in December the ideal candidate would have
a three month probation period and adaption period to acknowledge our
curriculum, school teachers, procedures and be able to organize a strategy
structure for the following year.
