Recruitment
of an accountant in CEP RWANDA
The
Bishop’s Justice and Peace Commission (CEJP Rwanda) is a commission of the
Catholic Church of Rwanda whose vision is “a society in which peace,
social Justice, respect for human rights and democratic principles reign”.
To contribute to this vision, its mission is the “promotion of a pastoral
of the values of justice, peace, unity, reconciliation and defense of the
Inalienable rights of the

human person in the light of the Gospel”.

As
part of the strengthening of its technical staff and through its project RWA
1702-07 “empowerment of women for their participation in
decision-making” financed by TROCAIRE, CEJP Rwanda would like to recruit
an accountant for its financial service and which will be based within its
National Secretariat located in Kigali, Nyarugenge District.
The
main responsibilities
In
close collaboration and under the technical support of the head of
Administration and finance, the CEJ’s accountant will perform the following
tasks:
  1. Receive
    and verify the compliance and accuracy of the funds request and the
    preparation of cheque payments,
  2. Enter
    all transactions in the accounting software and keep the accounting
    records up to date.
  3. Maintain
    the CEJP’s bank accounts using appropriate accounting software to produce
    reports on entries, expenses and other financial statements.
  4. Maintain
    analytical Accounting and allocate general costs to services/departments
    and corresponding projects
  5. Participate
    in internal control operations (audits) in the management of funds, budget
    commitments and payment authorizations.
  6. Ensure
    the proper reception and safekeeping of the funds, supported by
    appropriate supporting documentation,
  7. Participate
    in the development and monitoring of annual operating and investment
    budgets and monitor its implementation in accordance with the rules and
    procedures of the CEJP,
  8. Prepare
    Bank reconciliation statements at the end of each month close and prepare
    monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  9. Production
    of full and timely reports and financial statements in accordance with
    agreed deadlines with different partners:
  • Monthly
    financial report
  • Budget
    Implementation Report

Posting of accounting documents and classification of all accounting records
(documentation and proof of operations)
11.
Keep books and accounting records according to the regulations in place.
12.
Perform any other tasks related to the accounting and financial management of
the organization assigned to him by the CEJP administration.
Applicants
must meet the following requirements:
  • Be
    of Rwandan nationality,
  • Holding
    at least a bachelor degree (AD degree) in accounting, economics or
    financial management or any other similar field with proven experience of
    at least 2 years in accounting management within a recognized
    organization,
  • Knowledge
    about the practical use of the accounting software SAGE
  • Having
    the capacity to produce monthly financial reports
  • Having
    excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and
    Internet operation)
  • Knowing
    Kinyarwanda in addition to French and English (the knowledge of both
    languages French and English is highly appreciated).
  • Be
    free from any other engagement and ready to start the service immediately
  • Provide
    two reference persons.
Contract:
The
duration of the contract will be one renewable year with a trial period of
three months

How
to apply:
Applications
must be submitted to the Office of the Bishop’s Justice and Peace Commission
(CEJP) located in the building of the Bishops Conference of Rwanda (CEPR) next
to the Lycee notre Dame de Citeaux in Kigali, no later than 15/09/2017 at
16.00.
Only pre-selected candidates will be informed by telephone of the
date of the written and oral test.
