Over the last 150 years Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has cared for over 3million lost and abandoned dogs and cats and has become perhaps the best known animal refuge in the world. Known to millions across the UK, we have secured a very special place in the hearts of the nation.
Whatever their age, condition or need, we take in dogs and cats that simply have nowhere else to go. We aim never to turn an animal away and every day we get around 22 new dogs and 7 cats brought to our doors. In addition, around 100,000 visitors come to see the World famous Battersea Dogs & Cats Home every year.
With an incredible team of dedicated staff and volunteers we make sure that every animal coming into our care is given a second chance in life and a second chance of their own real life happy ending.

As an integral senior manager within our iconic organisation, you will oversee the operational management of our flagship London site, ensuring that we deliver a consistently exceptional service to animals and customers alike. You’ll also oversee the professional standards set out by the Home, ensuring we’re delivering on every level. We’ll look to you to make sure that our staff and volunteers feel valued, engaged and supported.
We’re looking for someone with an exceptional track record of successfully delivering complex operations within a similar organisation, and of effectively managing budgets in excess of £2m and a staff team of over 150. Whilst being visible on the front line you will be an inspirational leader, have the ability to support, develop and motivate staff to ensure productive working practices.
