Salary circa £35,000 pa Caersws, Powys
BASC is the largest sporting shooting organisation in the UK, serving 130,000 members in the shooting community and a wide variety of related stakeholder interests. It acts as a representative body, fostering safety, high standards and wildlife conservation. BASC Wales is involved in the delivery of representation and services for shooting and conservation in Wales.
BASC is seeking a person to succeed its Director Wales who retires at the beginning of 2012. The post is principally concerned with the front line delivery of programmes connected with membership, political and public affairs in Wales. These include conservation, shoot management and standards, membership development and fundraising as well as the direction of the BASC Wales staff and volunteer team.
The successful candidate will have:
• A degree or professional equivalent
• Good organisation ability, judgement, integrity and initiative
• A thorough knowledge of Wales, its history and culture
• A close connection with shooting sports
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including confidence in public speaking
• A professional track record of management
• Proficiency with ICT systems
