Corporate Credit Manager
Job Purpose
The role holder will act as credit professional acting as credit expert to be
the relationship team and the conduit to the Credi

t Risk function for
sanctioning purposes. He/She will be responsible for developing practical and
appropriate credit solutions (i.e. lending structures) through understanding
customers’ needs. This will also include delivering high quality and consistent
credit applications as well as making recommendations.

Requirements
Main
Accountabilities:
  • Assess
    a customer’s business through the analysis of Business and Credit risks
    associated with the provision of the Bank’s products and services to the
    customer.
  • Develop
    high quality credit solutions with the view of obtaining fast credit
    approval from Credit teams.
  • Be
    the joint contact for credit management purposes for accountants,
    solicitors and other professionals.
  • Preparation
    of good quality credit applications with paper attachments for
    recommendations to the Sanctioner (ultimate approval authority).
  • Work
    in partnership with Relationship Managers on new and existing credit
    applications, providing guidance on credit appetite and consulting with
    Credit teams as appropriate.
  • Deliver
    service in line with agreed business needs.
  • Proactively
    contribute to embedding agreed change management initiatives in support of
    process and quality improvements as well as cost reductions.
  • Support
    and contribute to specific industry focus as determined by the Corporate
    and Credit teams.

    assessment; analytical and numerate skills (acquired through credit
    courses attended and successfully completed)

    of local & regulatory guidelines
Knowledge
& Expertise:
  • Internal
    instructions/ procedures including Head office instructions, GRCB Credit
    Policy

    and services frequently used by customers
  • Knowledge
    of Corporate Credit Risk System (CCRS) and other bank systems.
  • Awareness
    of legislation affecting the Bank and customers having the highest regard
    for confidentiality.
  • Detailed
    knowledge of credit analysis techniques
  • Credit
    Skills Development
Experience
and Qualification:
  • Relevant
    Degree holder with appreciation for numerical and statistical analysis
  • Preferably
    a Master’s Degree holder in Finance or a related field e.g. Economics,
    Business, Commerce, etc
  • A
    minimum of 4 years work experience in a similar role would be an added
    advantage
