In
Cairns, BAE Systems provides Hydrographic In Service Support (HISS) to the
Royal Australian Navy, managing the in service support requirements of
Hydrographic Ships, Survey Motor Launches and Survey Motor Boats. Collectively,
the team manages scheduled maintenance, engineering configuration changes and
ad-hoc support requirements to support this fleet.

Configuration Control Officer to support the Cairns site, on a permanent and
full time basis. Are you up for the challenge?
As
the Configuration Control Officer, you will:
• Manage the configuration management system for the project team
• Perform configuration management tasks including managing data, parts,
software and documents in soft and hardcopy. This includes registering,
storing, updating, retrieving and issuing project information using the
configuration management system
• Provide customer assistance on the configuration management system
• Coordinate the development of maintenance activity certification plans
and ensure compliance with the plans
• Periodically review the usage upkeep cycles and ensure ongoing
appropriateness of the planned maintenance systems
• Contribute to the compliance of the Naval Technical Regulation Framework
requirements including the conduct and assessment of maintenance planning risks
• Provide support for the configuration management system restricted
network and associated hardware
• Provide assistance in the maintenance and management of local
Information Management and Technology
• Manage and maintain all backup and stored data on the restricted network
• Provide system reports to the customer
• Facilitate configuration management system training to internal and
external stakeholders 
As
an ideal applicant you will have:
• Previous experience as a Configuration Control Officer or in a similar
role
• Experience utilising various configuration management tools
• Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work
under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost
Whilst
not essential, a Diploma in Engineering coupled with configuration control
experience within the maritime industry will be highly regarded.
As
Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be
Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International
Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality
may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
