Art in Tanzania is a self-sustainable Non Government Organisation (NGO) registered in both Finland and Tanzania. Established in Dar es Salaam in 2001, Art in Tanzania has grown internationally to create volunteer
and internship centres in Dar es Salaam, Moshi, the Masai tribal lands, Karatu, and Zanzibar.

Mission: Advancement of community development through volunteer and intern projects in the fields of education, HIV/AIDS awareness, construction, sports programs and orphan care and the development of media (Mzuka Records and Fiesta Magazine) to promote social awareness.

Art in Tanzania is looking for a hard working Health Coordinator / Team Leader.

The Job:

Health Coordinator
• Represent Art in Tanzania in the region for all matters related to Medical/ Health programs.
• Promote Art in Tanzania on a local, national and international level.
• Analyze all medical/health need trends and social developments at the region in order to anticipate new projects and initiatives.
• Placing and supervise medical volunteers and Interns for Art in Tanzania working in hospitals and health projects including HIV/AIDS, STIs, Nutrition.
• Research grant-writing opportunities, initiate application process, and collaborate in writing different grants.
• Organize and facilitate seminars in secondary schools, which teach health topics (Malaria, STIs, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition), life skills, leadership development, and issues specifically related to young women/men and development
• Implementing the UNICEF Children’s Agenda 2012-2015
• Provide volunteers with training and ideas for their projects.
• Developing project plans and carrying them out.
• Plan and construct project budgets (in coordination with relevant colleagues)
• Monitoring and evaluation of health projects.
• Creating new volunteer/intern opportunities.
• Maintain good relationships with our agencies.
• Communicate with stakeholders both in Tanzania and abroad.

Team Leading
• Assist volunteers during their stay in Tanzania
• Supervising and guiding intern and volunteer programs
• Facilitating volunteer briefing/orientation on arrival
• Other administrative tasks

Our ideal candidate:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Demonstrated experience working in public health field, social work or community development
• International experience
• Management and organization skills
• Negotiation and liaison skills & high attention to detail
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Time management skills
• Ability to manage staff and motivate others
• Approachable for volunteers, resilient and mature, with the ability to work alone and in a team under basic living conditions
• Fluency in English, Knowledge of Swahili helpful

Note:
Flights to Tanzania are self-funded. Art in Tanzania will refund the required Tourist Visa and the Class C work permit. Accommodation and food are provided. You will receive a monthly stipend of 450000TSH to cover living expenses.
