Introduction
The
Albertine Rift is a biogeographic regi6n of the western African Rift. Valley,
covering the area in six countries: Eastern D.R. Congo, Western Uganda, Rwanda,
Burundi, Western Tanzania to Northern Zambia. The Albertine Rift Conservation
-Society (ARCOS) or Societe de Conservation du Rift Albertin (SCORA) in French
was founded in 1995 with the mission “to enhance biodiversity conservation
and the sustainable use of natural resources of the Albertine Rift through the
promotion of collaborative conservation action for nature and people”.
ARCOS has recently expanded its geographical scope to include the Great Lakes
region and African Mountains. The Albertine Rift Conservation Society (ARCOS
Network) currently has an opening for the position of “Finance and
Administration Officer “ to manage a new FONERWA funded Project and lead a
design, development, coordination and implementation of an effective project
financial management system.
2.
Overall Responsibility of ARCOS Finance and Administration Officer The overall
responsibility of the Finance and Administration Officer is to ensure the
implementation of policies, procedures and systems for all financial and
administrative support services of ARCOS activities primarily for the new
FONERWA funded project in Rwanda and lead the design, development, coordination
and implementation of an effective project financial management system to
ensure that activities carried out contribute to successful project
Implementation in line with ARCOS Strategic Plan and against performance
measures set out in the Fund Management Agreement between ARCOS and the donor.
