Job Summary: The jobholder will drive the assigned vehicle by his/her
supervisor and will be in charge of reporting any light, mechanical faults
identified in the assigned Vehicle. The Driver will also ensure timely,
economic and efficient provision of passenger transport services to our
clientele, staff and goods, while upholding the highest quality in safety
standards for the Amref Health Africa in Uganda Country Programme.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety of cargo, equipment, tools and
authorized passengers in the vehicle, and will maintain a daily record of
mileage readings and trips undertaken in the vehicle log book. - Compile and report any defects, faults or
problems encountered while on duty and any accidents immediately. - Intuitively check the vehicle and ensure it is
ready for trips in advance (Checking the tyre pressure, oil tank before
each trip). - The job holder will be punctual in picking and
dropping staff and visitors as required. - The job holder will ensure that the vehicle is
well equipped before making any trip to the field e.g First Aid Box etc. - The job holder will avoid over-speeding.
- Responsible for reconciling mileage on a monthly
basis. - The job holder will maintain up-to-date and
accurate records in the vehicle logbook. - The job holder will adhere to traffic rules at
all times - The job holder will observe health and safety
measures ensuring safety of passengers in the vehicle - The job holder must have a friendly, approachable
personality at all times especially when we are hosting visitors.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The Driver should hold a Uganda Certificates of
Education (“O” and “A” Level). - Possess a clean driving license and a valid
driving permit. - Hold a certificate in defensive driving an added
advantage. - Mature, courteous.
- Ability to make basic and logistical decisions in
regards to work responsibilities and is accountable for them.
