Alpbach Scholarship Programme

Applications
are invited for Alpbach Scholarship Programme. This programme is open to young
people under 30 who can attend leading interdisciplinary conference and a
variety of academic seminars.
The
European Forum Alpbach was founded in 1945 by Otto Molden, who had been active
in the Austrian resistance movement. More than 4,000 people from over 70
countries accept the invitation to participate in the European Forum Alpbach
each year.

The
candidate should have a very good command of English language. Therefore, the
application should be written in English.

    A basic scholarship covers the
    participation fee (EUR 1.400) for the whole duration of the event
    (15.08.-31.08.2018).
    Should you not have sufficient funds to cover the costs of your stay,
    you can additionally apply for a full scholarship providing accommodation
    (EUR 510) and a daily allowance for food (EUR 289). Please indicate in
    your online application if you wish to be considered for a full scholarship.
    If you can provide proof of financial support for your studies, you do not
    need to explain your financial situation in writing. In that case, please
    include relevant proof (e.g. student grant) in your application.

     Citizens of all
    nationalities are eligible to apply.
  • Entrance
    Requirements: 
    The scholarships
    are available to people up to 30 years of age. They welcome applications
    from all countries (except Austria) and academic disciplines. They also
    encourage artists and non-graduates to apply. There are special programmes
    for students from China and Finland.
  • English
    Language Requirements:  
    For the Seminar
    Week and the Symposia of the European Forum Alpbach, a minimum European
    level B2 or academic IELTS 5.5, 6 or 6.5 is required. Native speakers have
    to upload a copy of their passport. If you are a non-native speaker, there
    are two ways to prove your language proficiency in English:
    Language certificates: They accept official language certificates (e.g.
    IELTS, TOEFL or equivalents). If your certificates are in a language other
    than English, you need to submit a translation. This translation does not
    need to be certified.
    If you are studying in an English-speaking country or programme, you can
    submit a confirmation that you are enrolled in an English-language
    programme.

Application Procedure: 
A
complete application requires a filled in online application form as well as a
motivational statement, a curriculum vitae, certificates and transcripts and
proof of English proficiency.
