Duty Station : Nimba County
The communicable Disease Supervisor will oversee the intake and distribution of its pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for the EPHS project.
The specific responsibilities include:
• Work with the County Health Team Pharmacist to distribute drugs and supplies EPHS facilities in a timely manner in order to meet the performance based target indicators set by MOHSW and EPHS/Africare;
Assess and organize trainings as needed in the areas of malaria, tuberculosis, HIV, and surveillance diseases;•
Manage the scale up of HIV, TB and malaria activities according to the work plan;•
Work with Community Health Specialist to oversee the community based TB and HIV programs;•
• Liaise with the National Programs for AIDS, STIs, TB, and malaria to ensure that Africare’s work is in line with national priorities;
• Oversee, in conjunction with the Drug Manager, the distribution and requisitioning of malaria, HIV, TB, and STI drugs for the 16 EPHS facilities;
Perform supportive supervision in conjunction with the County Health Team at the clinics in the areas of reproductive health;•
Perform other duties as needed by Africare/EPHS•
Qualification:
B.Sc. degree in Nursing or Midwifery;•
At least three year experience in such position;•
Experience in building relationships and motivating people in rural communities;•
Working knowledge of the Essential Package of Health Services;•
Very good ability to speak the local language is an added advantage;•
Good English speaking, reading and writing skills and good interpersonal skills.•
