Purpose
of the job
The
Shift Leader leads team of production operators, takes a place in production
chain to assure highest quality of produced product, and highest hygienic
standards on production. Safety, Health and Environmental standards as well
addressed in his/her daily work.
During
the late and night shift he/she will act as a highest responsible employee on
site, knowledgeable with AIF reporting structures and acts accordingly.
Key
Responsibilities
  • Operating
    the Cimbria and Buhler plant in a responsible way
  • Provides
    on the floor leadership for shift personnel
  • Reports
    any process and/or equipment issues to the Plant Manager
  • Coordinates
    the work flow for smooth and efficient productivity
  • Ensures
    that the established production procedures, policies, rules and
    regulations, are followed
  • Verifies
    the accuracy, correct raw materials are being used and accurate lot
    identification per the batch sheets
  • Verifies
    correct label placement, lot coding and packaging of finished products
  • Responsible
    for the quality of plant production, processes, process equipment set
    up, safety, and highest level of plant hygiene, housekeeping of the
    production shift
  • Any
    other duties as assigned by the plant manager
  • Responsible
    for allocating staff to different user tasks, activities and generally
    organising the shift so that it runs smoothly.
Leadership/
Management Skills
  • Supervising
    team of dedicated production operators (includes maintain work schedule,
    working hours planning and reporting)
  • Responsible
    for the house in the absence of the Plant Manager and to take an active
    role in trying to cover any shifts necessary in the case of staff
    shortages.  There is an expectation that senior staff provide a
    greater degree of flexibility themselves covering shifts.
  • To
    take the lead in dealing with emergency or complex situations which may
    arise and responsible for signing of relevant documents.
  • The
    shift leader role is a vital one within a team. He/she ensures that the
    team members are cohesive, works smoothly and remains consistent. Also
    gives feedback to the Plant Manager on physical, mental health needs of
    social workers, and any change in risk indicators
  • To
    participate in the dissemination of essential information to all staff,
    to ensure team involvement and consultation in decision-making.
Knowledge
and educational level
Educational
level:
  • Bachelor
    Degree in Food Science, Food Production or any related field
  • Good
    communication skills, conversant in English, French will be an added
    advantage
  • Familiar
    with SAP or ERP Systems
  • Must
    have good social skills and communicate well with others, working
    together as a team.
  • Must
    be detail oriented with analytical skills
Required
level of experiences
  • Minimum
    of 5 years’ experience as a team Supervisor in the field of Production
    in Food processing industry
  • Excellent
    leadership skills
  • Must
    be detail oriented with analytical skills
  • Good
    communication skills, conversant in English, French will be an added
    advantage
  • Must
    have good social skills and communicate well with others, working
    together as a team.
