AERC-World Bank offers Robert S.
McNamara Fellowships Program for candidates currently enrolled in a
PhD program that is located outside their home country and in a member country
of the World Bank. The students of developing countries can
apply for these fellowships. Up to US$25,000 for a 5-10 month period
between December 2013 and November 2014 for travel and conduct PhD studies
/ research are awarded. The application deadline is July 31,
2013.

Scholarship Description: Up to US$25, 000 for a 5-10 month period between December 2013 and
November 2014 for travel and conduct PhD studies / research at the Office
of the Chief Economist of the Africa Region at the World Bank. The research
proposal must be endorsed by her/his PhD thesis advisor. The Fellows
will be assigned a mentor with common interests, and adequate office
space and equipment to undertake their research. Each Fellow will be expected
to give a seminar during the course of her stay. The output of the Fellow
will be reviewed by two senior staff at the Bank, and recommendations made to
help with its publication. Upon completion of the program McNamara fellows
return to their home country to work.
