Abstract

This study was based on assessment on the effect of quality health
records keeping as a pivot of healthcare industry for the provision of patient
care in Oghara Teaching Hospital. It was motivated by the problems encountered
by the healthcare industries in the substandard methods of health record
keeping. The general objectives were to carry out a critical assessment on the
effect of quality health records keeping, the suitable method, effect and
consequences of not practicing quality health records keeping. Four research
questions were formulated based on the purpose of the study. The methodology
adopted for the study was a descriptive study design used to draw a sample size
of one hundred and twenty five (125) participants out of the population of six
hundred (600) questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection. The
result indicated that untrained health care professionals employed by the
healthcare industries and management. Conclusion and suggestion for further
studies was also raised.
