We work with event organizers, production companies, and their suppliers to integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations into the event planning and management process. Our proven expertise allows us to develop innovative strategies for achieving sustainability goals, including the design of implementation plans, communications for engaging stakeholders, frameworks for monitoring and evaluation of performance, and approaches for creating legacy impacts.
Position Overview
Strategin Solutions is currently seeking a part time Business Development Manager. The primary objective of this role will be to grow the operations of Strategin Solutions in Western Canada. Specific objectives will be to enhance brand awareness and to secure new clients within the business development area.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the position will be to:
• Achieve sales targets set out for the organization;
• Identify prospective clients and create/maintain prospects list (support for list building will be provided);
• Foster new business relationships and generate new income for Strategin Solutions;
• Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries generated from within the business development area using appropriate methods;
• Liaise with senior management to determine appropriate service offerings for potential clients;
• Identify opportunities for strengthening Strategin Solutions’ service offerings and meet client needs; and
• Report monthly to senior management regarding progress toward achievement of sales targets.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A Master’s degree (preferably in Business Administration or Communications) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• 3 — 5 years experience in business development
• Strong networking skills, with existing contact base within the business development area
• Demonstrated excellence and achievement in account management, consultative sales, and business development
• Superior presentation and excellent oral and written communication skills
• The ability to balance multiple priorities and tasks, and be self-motivated
• Solid organizational and time management skills
• Good working knowledge of and passion for sustainability
• Firsthand knowledge of the event industry
Compensation
The position will be compensated for on a commission basis for the first 6 months. Six months from the start date, a performance review will be held and compensation determined accordingly.
