Position                         30
hours per week – 9.00 to 3.00– Monday to Friday
The
position is based at Yarran’s East Gosford and Bateau Bay Playroom.

Diploma
of Children’s Services. Cert 111 of children’s services will be considered if
applicant holds extensive relevant experience.
Minimum
of three years recent experience working in childcare /preschool programs.

Experience
working with young children with a variety of different disabilities 0-6 years
of age.
Current
Applied First Aid certificate.
Demonstrated
ability to work in a team approach.
Current
valid Drivers License, Comprehensive insurance & a reliable vehicle as this
position requires travel between both centres.
Working
with Children & police check will apply.

The
Childcare worker, under the supervision & direction of the Playroom teacher
will:
Prepare
the learning environment.
  • Complete
    the setting up of, packing away & preparing the daily activities
    planned for both indoors & outdoors as directed by the Playroom
    teacher as per each child’s individual educational program.
  • Attend
    to the cleaning & disinfecting of toys, equipment, bathrooms, tables,
    etc. maintaining hygiene standards of the Playroom program &
    associated with individual & group activities, experiences &
    routines.
  • Preparations
    of teaching materials, craft activities & teaching aids as developed
    by the Playroom teacher
  • Maintenance
    of all storerooms both indoor & outdoors.
  • Contribute
    to the development of and assist in the implementation of the play based
    Playroom program including the completion of the daily routines and tasks.
  • Positively
    interact with children, giving each child individual attention, care,
    & comfort as required.
  • Implement
    daily routines, such as morning tea, group times etc. transitions &
    individual educational programs.
  • Assist
    in the observation & evaluation of the daily programming, with the
    recording of the children’s development & in planning for the ongoing
    development of the child as described in their individual educational
    program.
  • Assist
    in the data collection of observations & evaluation of individual
    child’s development according to their IEP & response to the Playroom
    program.
  • Work
    with other Playroom staff to ensure the smooth running of the playroom
    program.
  • Supervise
    the activities of a group of children for short periods of time, ensuring
    their welfare at all times.
