The St Vincent de
Paul Society Queensland is currently seeking two Homelessness Support Workers
in the Gladstone region. Full Time and Part Time options available.
About the
Position
The Homelessness
Support Workers, based in Gladstone, are responsible for providing a high
standard of case management, advice and support to assist people who are
homeless or at risk of homelessness to access safe, afford
able and stable
accommodation and to overcome barriers which have contributed to their homelessness
and/or risk of homelessness. Position duties are to be performed in
accordance with the Society’s policies, procedures and philosophy of St Vincent
de Paul Society Queensland.

To be consider for
this position, applicants must
specifically address the following selection criteria:
- Tertiary
level qualifications and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in
community services, social work or a related field. - Demonstrated
capacity and knowledge to work within relevant legislation including
Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act, State Housing Act,
and Workplace Health and Safety and within the program guidelines relating
to the delivery of Specialist Homelessness Services. - Demonstrated
knowledge and capacity to provide effective case management relating to
issues of housing affordability, disadvantage, homelessness,
discrimination, special needs and an understanding of the needs of people
that are homeless or at risk of homelessness - Ability
to maintain compliance with programs, policies and procedures and to
utilise case management and data systems efficiently. - Ability
to work within the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society and in
accordance with policy and procedures to promote the values and mission of
the Society.
The successful
candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete pre-employment checks
which includes a National Criminal History Records Check and Working with
Children Suitability Card.A current Driver’s Licence is essential.
