CHF International has been operating in Rwanda since 2005. Our mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world, helping them to improve their social, economic and environmental conditions.

CHF International’s newest program in Rwanda is the USAID/PEPFAR-funded USAID/Higa Ubeho program. Through the USAID/Higa Ubeho program, CHF International will support MIGEPROF and its partners to create a national system for identifying and tracking services to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) throughout Rwanda.

CHF International is seeking to contract a legal service consulting firm to provide analysis and counsel on legal, policy, and anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the organization. Develop and recommend the organization policy and position on legal issues.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
1. Provide analysis and counsel on legal, policy, and environmental issues to include;
2. Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits;
3. Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the organization;
4. Develop and recommend the organization policy and position on legal issues;
5. Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues;
6. Represent the CHF International or its officials in various legal proceedings;
7. Prepare legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc when need arise;
8. Write and administer complex vendor, client, and employment contracts;
9. Develop and recommend of operating policy and procedural improvements;
10. Other duties as assigned;

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
1. Knowledge of Rwandan Labor Laws. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations;
2. Having three to five years of corporate law experience, experience with international NGO’s will be a plus;
3. Requires membership in the Bar of Chambers as an attorney qualified to practice law in this state;
4. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public;
