NetHope Academy Country Manager

The NetHope Academy provides classroom, online and on the job training for young IT professionals as part of a five month internship program. The NetHope Academy Country Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing in-country NetHope Academy operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Work with NetHope Academy Team to define country roll-out strategy and program direction throughout program lifecycle
• Assist with local Intern and Host Organization recruitment (NGOs, technology companies, large government/donor projects, etc.)
• Manage Intern interview process (determine candidates to interview based on given criteria, schedule interview dates/times, prepare interviewers, create schedule, etc.)
• Manage all program and classroom logistics • Recruit and hire local training resources, when needed
• Manage program operations including budget, intern payments, performance reviews, in-country metrics, NGO relationships, commercial partner relationships and business development opportunities
• Communicate with Interns, facilitate mentoring opportunities, provide support and coaching
• Report regular progress and status updates to the NetHope Academy Team
• Work with NetHope Academy Team to develop local marketing and communications plan
• Report and address any program issues (internship attendance, internship quality, performance issues, Host Organization issues, etc.)
• Collect and track data regarding internships, permanent job, conditions and salary
• Assist with full-time job placement
• Grow NetHope Academy presence in East and West Africa by networking with businesses, NGOs, ISPs, and others who are in need of qualified IT resources
• Design and manage local alumni “Give Back” opportunities
• Contribute to Program assessment and improvement

Qualifications
• Experience leading efforts between multiple public and private sector partners including NGOs, donors, government, and commercial businesses
• Excellent knowledge of local IT sector including significant projects, opportunities, and contacts
• Experience managing complex projects
• Ability to command a classroom and work with youth, IT professionals, university partners
• Ability to complete tasks on time and within budget
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent English language skills and predominant local language skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience working with youth and job readiness programs a plus
