African Development Bank (AfDB) Power Engineer Job Vacancy in Rwanda

The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group’s mission is to help reduce poverty, improve living conditions for Africans and mobilize resources for the continent’s economic and social development. To this end, the Bank seeks to stimulate and mobilize internal and external resources to promote investments as well as provide its regional member countries with technical and financial assistance.

We are looking to hire one long-term consultant and need individuals with good African experience. African nationals would be ideal. Please find the required profiles below.

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum M.Sc. degree in energy/electrical/mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 12 years post-qualification experience in the field of power engineering.
• Strong experience in designing and implementing renewable energy projects and structuring public-private partnerships (PPP) in emerging markets or in a developing country context.
• In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory frameworks and appropriate policies required for a vibrant power sector.
• Strong experience in capacity building is desirable and would be an added advantage.
• Specialized field of expertise should include renewable energy.
• Knowledge of the African power sector and field experience in at least one African country required.
• Experience and knowledge in infrastructure project finance.
• Must be fluent in English with working knowledge of French or vice versa.
