Job description

Working with the Country Manager and managing the Marine Construction team, you serve as the technical oversight and mechanical coordinator involving the marine construction of the project gas processing facilities as it relates to the barge construction, installation of the gas processing facilities on the barge, as well as, installation of the sub-sea piping, risers and separators, and the ship to shore supply piping. Working under the supervision of the Construction Project Manager, the individual will monitor daily construction activities, to insure conformance to contract documents, plans and specifications, address and direct questions to and from the contractors via the RFI (request for information), review and comment on proposed change orders, and coordinate design and construction related questions back to the Owners Engineer. In addition, the individual shall lead all aspects of commissioning of the project gas processing facility as it relates to the gas processing facility on the barge, together with the sub-sea piping, risers and separators and the ship to shore supply piping.

Responsibilities :
– Coordinate and provide information on a daily basis both verbally and in written reports as to status of construction and facilities to the Construction Project Manager and at other times as required.
– Work and communicate directly with them on site contractors in regard to issues on quality control, response to information and providing input for change orders as needed.
– Coordinate the flow of design and engineering information to and from the Owners Engineer to the Contractor on issues and clarifications in the construction of the facilities.
– In conjunction with the Construction Project Manager, develop the project specific requirements, assisting in the development and corresponding updating of the project schedule, budget and costs.
– Participate in weekly conferences and project meetings and provide input into the overall project status as to the project meeting objectives regarding execution of the prescribed work by the contractors.
– Perform economic justifications, develop plan and schedules, and assist with major equipment and vendor contract negotiations.
– Serve as Construction Project Manager in absence of the Construction Project Manager as required.
– Prepare and submit, in a timely manner, weekly and monthly reports on construction status of assigned work and be able to communicate as to status when requested.
– Provide the lead role for the commissioning of all items of plant making up the project gas processing facility, providing training to the Group Personnel during the commissioning phase as appropriate.

Who we are looking for
• Bachelors degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, with five to ten years of experience in various construction field activities related to large industrial applications which would include off shore marine experience.
• Proven problem solving skills and the ability to analyze engineering documents such as process flow diagrams, piping and instrument drawings, general arrangement and piping drawings.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to utilize, proficiently, Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, MS Project and Power Point.
• Primavera scheduling familiarity would also be beneficial. The ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in applying established techniques, procedures and standards.
• The ability to work independently and as a team member within a construction site environment.
• The ability to oversee and respond to progress or issues of various concurrent construction activities and in regard to contractors, to coordinate requests for information and oversee construction work from a quality standpoint.
